Max is a teacher who believes that music is a gift, best shared with others. After discovering the song “I Am the Walrus” at age 9, he was inducted to the church of rock and roll. He strapped on a guitar one year later, and has since devoted himself to writing songs, developing his technique, and performing with honesty and devotion.

Max creates individual lesson plans for each of his students, designed to help them achieve their musical goals. His knowledge of technique and theory will ensure that his students will grow while remaining healthy and excited. At the same time, his passion for creativity will ensure that his students will find joy in musical discovery.

Max graduated from the Penn State School of Music as the university’s first Guitar Performance major. Before attending Penn State, he took lessons at the School of Rock Downingtown, where he gained extensive live performance experience and was selected to perform on the 2022 School of Rock Allstars tour, a selective program offered to standout musicians worldwide. Max has been trained in a diverse palate of musical styles, including rock, jazz, classical, folk, and blues.

Max has taught lessons at the School of Rock Downingtown since 2022, teaching students between the ages of 8-18. He also taught students in one-on-one and group settings at their yearly summer camps. He also teaches college students at Penn State looking for guidance in their musical journeys.

Max performed in multiple ensembles during his time at Penn State. He was the guitarist of the competitive Centre Dimensions big band for each of his 4 years, and has performed recitals of classical repertoire. Before college, he cut his teeth at the School of Rock Downingtown, gaining experience in a wide variety of genres and styles. He also performs with his own band, Little Blue and the Stargazers, seen often at Manny’s in State College.

Max is incredibly excited to join the Earth Song staff and make some great music!
