Enthusiastic - compassionate - authentic

Jay leads with joy as the forefront of her teaching. Music making has the innate ability to cultivate enjoyment, expression, and empowerment for all participants. Because each student has their own unique set of goals and needs, Jay fosters guidance with flexibility and safety in her teaching spaces to support what-ever her students want to accomplish and how-ever they’d like to achieve it.

Jay currently studies music education and music performance with an oboe concentration at West Chester University’s Wells School of Music. She has participated in a plethora of instrumental and choral groups at the university, including marching with the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band in the 2024 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, CA, and with the WCU Symphony Orchestra at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) Annual In-Service Conference.

Jay is an active performer through her own soloistic study of the oboe, with WCU Wind Ensemble, and WCU Chamber Winds, which just returned from a European performance tour in den Haag and Amsterdam, Netherlands, in May of 2025. Jay is also an active member of PMEA, the International Double Reeds Society, and the National Association for Music Educators, Collegiate.

Although her study and performances are primarily instrumental, Jay also shares a deep enjoyment and passion for singing! She has performed with several choirs and a capella groups, and most enjoyably accompanies her own voice on piano and guitar. Recently, Jay has been belting out tunes from Broadway musicals like Hamilton and likes to sing and play music from some of her favorite artists like Fleetwood Mac, Clairo, and Odie Leigh.

When Jay isn’t making music, it’s likely to find her spending time outside adventuring, journaling, creating art, and hammocking with her best-puppy, Blue.
