About Earth Song Student Bands
Since 2019, we’ve been putting together bands with students who have compatible age, musical skill level, personality, and musical interests. Our awesome band director, Mr. Smith, works with all the bands to rehearse on a regular basis, put together great set lists, create musical arrangements that fit the band, prepare for gigs, learn how to work as a creative team, cultivate a band brand, write original music, record in the studio, and more!
We offer a personalized, customized experience for each band and their unique interests and skills.
We teach young musicians “how to be in a band” so they can grow through our program to be independent in the local music scene. Many Earth Song bands who have worked through our program are now independently booking their own shows and getting paid gigs at local venues!
Jess Smith is the band coordinator who coordinates all the rehearsal scheduling and books gigs at local venues & events. She makes rehearsal and gig scheduling super easy and convenient for all the band families!
Bands also get to work with our super talented event photographer, Dylan Eddinger, and sound engineer wizard Zach Washko.
Earth Song bands play lots of gigs including our annual Earth Song Fest at the Colonial Theatre in Phoenixville! Recent gig venues and events include Stolen Sun Brewing, Rivet Canteen & Assembly, The Gem Spring City Speakeasy, Victory Park Summer Series, Saint Peter’s Village Fall Fest, Phoenixville First Friday, Keystone Riverfront Fest, OJR Family Farm Fest, and Saint Peter’s Village “Village Green” outdoor stage.

Band member placement is contingent on if we are able to make great band member matches for you. It is of utmost importance to us to put bands together who enjoy working together, share musical interests and goals, and are aligned in their musical skill level. If we can’t find the right fit for you immediately, you will be added to the band-member-waiting-list. If you are on our waiting list, we will contact you when an opportunity arises that we feel is a good fit for you!
-
Absolutely! We love to see summer bands continue to work together beyond the summer program. We can certainly continue scheduling band rehearsals & booking gigs throughout the school year.
